THE GRAND HOTEL ON MACKINAC ISLAND

This hotel is a beautiful, unique island resort. Given the location and reduced rates being offered to MCAA’s guests, the hotel has required a rigid attrition liability of MCAA. It is very important that all reserved room nights are utilized. Any changes or cancels before Friday July 25^th are fine – please contact GRI with all changes/cancels at mcaashow@grires.com. The MCAA group room rates are only guaranteed until July 25^th. If the room block fills before July 25^th, any additional rooms (if available) will likely be at a higher rate.

Shortening a stay or cancelling a room reservation must be made by Friday July 25^th. After July 25^th, it will be necessary for MCAA to back charge the guest if any of the returned nights are charged by the hotel to MCAA. If you need to shorten a stay or cancel a room after July 25^th, notify GRI as soon as possible, and GRI will do all they can to resell your room nights. If GRI resells your released room nights, you will no longer be responsible for those nights.. PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT THE HOTEL DIRECTLY TO CANCEL/CHANGE YOUR RESERVATION AS THE OPPORTUNITY TO RESELL YOUR RELEASED MCAA ROOM NIGHTS WILL BE LOST.

If you are a “no show”, the hotel will automatically charge you a ‘no show fee’ of one night’s stay (remaining unused nights may be back charged by MCAA). Please note if you shorten your stay after check-in, you will automatically be charged by the hotel for up to two nights’ stay (any remaining unused nights may be back charged by MCAA).

Please note that the majority of MCAA’s rooms are blocked at The Chateaux. If you request to stay at the Stein Eriksen Lodge and all MCAA rooms at the Lodge have been sold, your reservation will be processed for The Chateaux and waitlisted for the Stein Eriksen. This will be noted on your housing confirmation sent by GRI.

- Two Beds – either D/D or Q/Q room – Single/Double $279 (1 or 2 occupants)
  Triple $299 (3 occupants)
  Quad $319 (4 occupants)
The Grand Hotel is a historic property and individual guest rooms vary. The hotel has a limited number of single bedded rooms (King or Queen) and will not guarantee the bed type reserved.

Taxes: As mandated by state law (which may be subject to change), the Michigan 6% sales tax and a 3% Mackinac Island assessment applies to the daily rate (room and fees).

The Grand Hotel allows persons with disabilities to use service animals, without imposing any extra charges or conditions, in guest room/suites and all public areas of the facility. No other pets, including emotional support animals, are permitted.

Resort Fee: A 19.5% added charge is applied to the guestroom rate. This resort fee includes the following:
- Entertainment – Grand Hotel Orchestra plays live music throughout the resort each day;
- Lawn games;
- Daily resort activities – can be viewed daily on www.grandhotel.com
- Esther Williams pool and pool bar access (cabanas are available to rent)
- Fitness Center access
- Bottled water (2 upon check-in)
Luggage Transfer Fee: The Grand charges a one-time $15 luggage transfer fee per person, for adults and for children in each room. This fee covers the transfer of your luggage between the ferry and hotel for your arrival and departure (please note – this fee is calculated on the number of occupants in the room and not on the number of bags). The luggage transfer fee will automatically be charged to each room folio on the first night of stay. When your room reservation has been processed, GRI will email you a confirmation along with additional details on the ferry/luggage transfer process and also the hotel’s dress code.

The Chateaux has offered a discounted rate of $578 per night plus tax and fees for a One Bedroom Suite. These suites are not pre-blocked and will be sold based on current availability.
The Stein Eriksen has offered a discounted rate of $529 per night plus tax and fees for a One Bedroom Luxury Suite. These suites are not pre-blocked and will be sold based on current availability.

Prior to the July 25th housing deadline, a GRI Program Manager will contact you to get the credit card to be used to guarantee your reservation. Please note the hotel requires that each guest provide a valid credit card to the front desk staff at check-in to be used for the payment of room, fees & tax and all incidentals.
